This project was very hard form me, but once I finished, I’ve felt the most accomplished than any other project!

I first started with some sketches. I was unsure what I wanted to do when I first started, but I know I wanted to involve a snowman. So I started sketching out a snowman and several parts of a snowman.

After the sketches, I went into illustrator and started messing around with some things. After several hours of trial and error, I decided I wanted the snowman to have only snowman features, but with some human features on the face. So eyes, eyebrows, and mouth. I also went with the Santa Claus hat because I’m pretty stoked that it’s Christmas season.

After submitting to Slack and getting my classmate’s critiques, I decided to add some more highlights, take away some shadows and tighten up on some of the details of the design. I also made a happy version of the snowman and a sweating snowman because I then knew that I wanted to start the gif with a happy snowman and end it with the snowman starting to melt a tad.

After the designs, I organized my layer’s panel a bit and moved the designs to After Effects. After Effects was VERY hard for me to figure out and get use to, but I figured it out. After hours and hours of trail and error, and hours of youtube video watching and practice, I finally got my final gif! I was very happy with it considering what I knew before I started and what I went through and achieved through this creative process.
