When I began this project, I had just no idea as to what I wanted to design. I knew I loved California, snowboarding, and photography. So I started with that. But, as you can see from my sketches, I was getting nowhere. But then I remembered, I also LOVE everything and anything having to do with Star Wars.

So, then I created this draft. In my third or fourth session of brainstorming, I came up with the idea to do a spin of the California flag and make it Star Wars themed! This was a lot more difficult than I had originally thought. Mad props to those who can design Chewbacca with easy and beauty, because I most definitely found the most trouble with that part.

Finally, I came to some resolution with this final design. I changed up the font style and I did a personal spin on it and put Chewbacca on a surfboard in place of the grass. This is the color of the shirt I am printing on. I actually think it looks really good and I am super stoked to get it!

Overall, I ended up making changes to I really loved this project because of everything I learned, and what I need to do next time to make a better design. But the coolest part about this project was realizing that I could do something like this.

I also learned that I am still in the stage of my life where what I think of designing in my head is still more complex than the skill I have, and that is frustrating.

But, we continue to learn and get better!
