Well, well, well, this project turned out much different than I thought. My first initial thought I wanted to do was icons that have to do with Greys Anatomy. I started off with sketches. I thought people and something that represents their specialities would be really fun.

After doing sketches I decided to mess around with Illustrator to see what I could do. And let me tell you, it is one of the hardest things I have ever done. People are not easy!

After going through this process with trying to create people and also other objects that have to do with surgery I hated everything that I was doing, but I ended up really loving the needle and the syringe I started to go on that path more and more.

And after finishing this very rough draft I decided that people were not something I wanted on this project so instead I went with the surgical instruments. After creating 12 instruments and having them with hint of that deep red color I decided that there was more that needed to be done. I then decided that I wanted to do a background of red (because of blood) and I tried to do like a puddle of blood, but I didn’t like the shapes. I then decided on making it a simple circle and then added little drops around to act as drops of blood. (I promise you that I am not a weirdo…haha) but then I decided that the instruments needed to not be white, but be a light silver/grey color and that is when I really started to enjoy what I was creating. In the end I am very proud of what I came up with!
