Before I even got started on my t-shirt design, I knew I wanted design a pun. While I was thinking about what I wanted to do, I can across some trump socks. I started thinking of all the different photos of trump and sayings Trump has and brainstormed with a friend. We started thinking of all the different possibilities when the idea of “Bake America Cake Again” came to mind. It’s a pun off of Trumps campaign “Make America Great Again”

Once I had a firm idea of what I wanted to do, I looked at multiple different photos of trump, aprons, chief hats, and what the font was for Trumps “Make America Great Again” campaign. I sketched out ideas, including a cake I could possibly make.

I went into Adobe Illustrator and created different pieces, like the head would be shaped like, the lines on the face, the hair, and so forth. I really wanted to make most of the pieces and weed out the ones I didn’t like.

After having the parts made, I experimented with lines to distinguish Trump’s face. I quickly realized I liked the version of trump without any lines.

To give it one last shot, I tried only doing the chin lines, but quickly decided I didn’t like that either.

I proceeded to make the logo white instead and stick to a more simple face for trump. I moved back the hat and showed more of the iconic hair and made him a little more orange. I decided this was going to be my final t-shirt design.

I had decided on a grey t-shirt. This is a mock-up of what it would look like printed out.
